Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 12, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Cable Takeoff ("Cable Takeoff," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use the Cable Takeoff web application and related services (the "Service") available at cabletakeoff.com. Cable Takeoff is a service of Gallatin Wholesale. The Service is a business-to-business software tool intended for use by professional estimators, contractors, and similar business users in the low-voltage and network cabling industry. By using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

Who We Are

Cable Takeoff is a web-based takeoff and estimating tool for low-voltage, structured cabling, and network contractors. The Service runs in your web browser and lets you upload construction floor-plan PDFs, calibrate drawing scales, place device and cable-drop points, route cabling, and export takeoff data and bills of materials.

Cable Takeoff is a service of Gallatin Wholesale, based in the United States. This policy applies to information we collect through the Service. It does not apply to third-party websites, products, or services that we do not control, even if they link to or from the Service.

Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information:

Account information. When you create an account, we collect your email address and basic account credentials. Authentication and account credentials are managed through our authentication provider, Clerk. We may also receive a unique user identifier and limited profile information associated with your account from Clerk.

Content you upload and create (Customer Content). To use the Service, you upload construction drawings and floor-plan PDFs, and you create project and takeoff data such as drawing scale calibrations, IDF/MDF anchor points, device and outlet locations, cable routes, custom drop types and symbol libraries, assemblies and part numbers, legends, and the resulting measurements, quantities, and bills of materials. We refer to this collectively as your "Customer Content." It is stored in our database and file storage, which are provided by Supabase.

Sensitivity of uploaded drawings. We understand that the construction drawings and floor plans you upload can be highly sensitive. They may depict secure or critical facilities — including hospitals and other healthcare sites, data centers, government buildings, and other infrastructure — and may reveal building security layouts, server-room/IDF/MDF locations, and other details about how a facility is built and protected. We treat all Customer Content as confidential. We do not sell it, we do not use it to train artificial intelligence or machine-learning models, and we do not access it except as needed to operate the Service, provide support you request, ensure security, or comply with law.

Your responsibilities. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to upload the drawings and other Customer Content you provide. Please do not upload drawings you are not authorized to share, and follow any nondisclosure agreements, facility-security requirements, or other obligations that apply to those materials.

Billing information. When you subscribe to a paid plan, payment is processed by our payment processor, Stripe. Stripe collects and processes your payment details directly. We do not collect or store full payment card numbers. We may receive limited billing-related information from Stripe, such as your subscription status, plan, billing contact details, the last four digits of a card, and transaction history, so we can manage your account and subscription.

Usage and technical information. When you use the Service, we and our service providers may automatically collect technical information such as IP address, browser type, device information, log data, and information about how you interact with the Service, for purposes such as security, troubleshooting, and improving the Service.

How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, operate, and maintain the Service, including storing your uploaded drawings, projects, and takeoff data and making them available to you.
  • Authenticate users and secure accounts.
  • Process subscriptions, payments, and billing through our payment processor.
  • Provide customer and technical support, including priority support where applicable to your plan.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, secure, and improve the Service and develop new features.
  • Communicate with you about your account, subscription, service-related notices, and important changes.
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our agreements.

We do not sell or share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we do not sell your uploaded drawings or project data. We do not use your Customer Content to train artificial intelligence or machine-learning models.

Third-Party Subprocessors

We rely on a small number of trusted third-party service providers (subprocessors) to operate the Service. Each processes information only as needed to provide its service to us and is obligated to protect it. All of the subprocessors below process data in the United States for our Service.

  • Clerk — authentication (United States). Manages user sign-up, sign-in, and account credentials, and stores associated account information such as your email address.
  • Supabase — database and file storage (United States). Stores your account-associated data and the construction drawings, PDFs, and project/takeoff data (Customer Content) you upload and create.
  • Stripe — payment processing (United States). Collects and processes payment details and manages subscriptions and billing. Cable Takeoff does not store full payment card numbers.
  • Vercel — hosting (United States). Hosts and serves the Service and processes related technical and log data, including server-side usage logs.
  • Google Analytics — website & product analytics (Google LLC, United States). Collects pseudonymous usage and device data — such as pages viewed, trial sign-ups, and subscription conversions — to help us understand traffic and improve the Service. We do not send Google your name or the contents of the drawings you upload.

We may update our subprocessors as the Service evolves. When we add or replace a subprocessor that processes Customer Content, we will provide notice to account holders (for example, by email or through the Service). Business customers handling sensitive facility data may request a data processing agreement (DPA) by contacting us at support@cabletakeoff.com.

Cookies and Session Storage

The Service uses cookies and browser session storage primarily to operate and secure the Service. In particular, we and our authentication provider use cookies and session storage to maintain your authentication session, keep you signed in, and protect against unauthorized access. These cookies and storage items are essential to providing the Service. If you disable or block them through your browser settings, parts of the Service, including signing in, may not function properly. We also use Google Analytics, which sets cookies to measure traffic and conversions; these analytics cookies are not essential, and blocking them will not affect the core functionality of the Service.

We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not use the Service to serve third-party advertising. If we introduce any optional analytics cookies in the future, we will update this policy and, where required by law, request your consent.

Data Retention and Deleting Your Account and Data

We retain your account information and the drawings, projects, and takeoff data you upload for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. We may retain certain information for a limited period after account closure where necessary to comply with legal, accounting, tax, or security obligations, to resolve disputes, or to enforce our agreements.

You may delete individual projects and uploaded drawings yourself at any time from within the Service. To delete your entire account and all associated Customer Content, you may submit a request by contacting us at support@cabletakeoff.com. We will acknowledge your request within 5 business days and, upon verification, will delete or de-identify your account information and uploaded content within 30 days, except where we are required or permitted by law to retain it. Residual copies may persist in routine encrypted backups for a limited period and are overwritten or expire within 90 days of deletion from our active systems.

Data Security

We take reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, and alteration. These measures include the use of reputable infrastructure and service providers, encryption of data in transit (TLS) and encryption of stored data at rest — including the construction drawings and PDFs you upload — access controls that restrict Customer Content to authorized personnel and the named subprocessors only, and authentication safeguards provided through our authentication provider.

Because uploaded drawings can depict secure or sensitive facilities, we treat them as confidential Customer Content and limit internal access to what is necessary to operate the Service, provide requested support, maintain security, or comply with law. We do not use this content to train artificial intelligence or machine-learning models.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential and for the security of the devices you use to access the Service. If we become aware of a data breach affecting your personal information or Customer Content, we will notify affected account holders and any applicable authorities as required by law. If you believe your account has been compromised, please contact us promptly at support@cabletakeoff.com.

Your Rights and Choices

Depending on where you are located, you may have rights regarding your personal information, including the right to access the information we hold about you, to correct inaccurate information, to request deletion, to obtain a portable copy of certain information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can exercise many of these choices directly in the Service (for example, updating account details or deleting projects and drawings), or you can contact us at support@cabletakeoff.com. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

EEA and UK residents: where the EU or UK General Data Protection Regulation applies, we process your personal information to perform our contract with you, to pursue our legitimate business interests in operating and securing the Service, and to comply with legal obligations. Because we process data in the United States, transfers rely on appropriate safeguards where required. You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

California and other U.S. state residents: you may have the rights to know, access, correct, and delete personal information, and to obtain a copy of it, subject to the law. As stated above, we do not sell your personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. To make a request, contact us at support@cabletakeoff.com. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request, and an authorized agent may submit a request on your behalf with proof of authorization.

Business Users; Not Directed to Children

The Service is intended for business and professional use by estimators, contractors, and other business users. It is not intended for personal, family, or household use, and it is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in the relevant jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at support@cabletakeoff.com so we can take appropriate action.

Data Processing in the United States

Cable Takeoff is based in the United States, and the information we collect — including your Customer Content and the subprocessors that store and process it — is processed and stored in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be transferred to, processed in, and stored in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those of your jurisdiction. Where required by applicable law, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers. By using the Service, you consent to this processing in the United States.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, the Service, or applicable law. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and may provide additional notice as appropriate, such as by email or through the Service. Your continued use of the Service after an updated policy takes effect constitutes your acceptance of the changes.
